Care Tower Middelheim

The care apartments are housed in a 44-meter-high high-rise with 13 floors (12+1 technical floor). A community service center for residents is provided on the ground floor. Each floor consists of 6 flats, each with its own winter room (a glass-enclosed terrace) as an extension of the classic living spaces.

Adjacent but completely autonomous is a nursery consisting of 2 floors. The high-rise will be connected to the nursery by a covered passageway with integrated green spaces. An outdoor play area is provided above the covered passageway for the nursery.

The facade is constructed of an austere and monotonous palette of materials. The organization of the winter rooms combined with the soft natural stone, aims for a timeless facade expression with a robust presence in the park-like landscape, accompanied by some typical 1960s high-rise residential blocks.
