The Greves Quarter

This project includes an old school site that is being pitted and repurposed into an intergenerational residential district, consisting of both new construction and renovation with diverse housing offerings. Between the various buildings are several attached public yards that together form a hamlet, charged by collective facilities.

Among other things, intelligent sight lines, indoor terraces, sophisticated floor plans and raised floor passes were employed in the service of a pleasant living environment.

The built additions occupy a sober and complementary position within the existing fabric and help guard the historic visual quality. We aim to stop thinking in contrast between old and new by borrowing the spatial, volumetric and formal quality of new additions from the quality existing buildings. In this way, locally anchored buildings emerge as coherent additions to the existing patrimony.
